Setting up your Keyring

Step 1: Prepare your phone
Turn on NFC in your phone settings if you use Android; on iPhone it is normally on by default.

Install and open an NFC programming app, then go to the “Write” or “Program” section. We use NFC Tools as this App is free.

Step 2: Choose what you want your keyring chip to do
Common options in most NFC apps:

  • Link to a social media page (instagram, tik tok ect)

  • Open a website (URL).

  • Save contact details.

  • Trigger a phone action (call, text, Wi‑Fi login, etc., if supported by the app and chip size).

In the app:

Tap “Add record” or similar.

Pick the type (for example, URL) and enter the data (for example, your website link).

Step 3: Write to the chip (hover phone over keyring)
In the app, tap “Write” or “Start writing.”

Hold the back/top of your phone directly over the NPC chip and keep it still for 1–2 seconds.

Wait for the confirmation message that the write was successful. If it fails, try again and move the phone slightly over the tag area.

Step 4: Test and, if needed, re‑program
Exit the NFC app and tap your phone to the chip again.

Your phone should automatically perform the programmed action (for example, open the website).

If you want to change it, go back into the NFC app and repeat the write steps; the new data will overwrite the old data.
